MEGACON Orlando 2026 was bigger and better than ever! The Orange County Convention Center reportedly welcomed more than 180,000 attendees over the four-day event, with this year’s exhibition highlighting special activities for Lord of the Rings fans celebrating the 25th anniversary of Fellowship of the Ring.
I want to share my experience attending MEGACON 2026 as a college student, why visiting MEGACON Orlando is worth your time, and how to plan for the best visit to MEGACON Orlando 2027.
2026 Review
I am impressed by how easy and quick it was to navigate security and check-in! The staff was very clear and helpful with directions, and it took my sister and me fifteen minutes max to get through the line for early-entry guests.
Making our way back to the correct bus was breezy! Buses did not run on a schedule this year and would come and go to each parking lot frequently, so we had a minimal wait for the next bus. We had parked at Rosen College and took the green route bus from there, which kept our walking to a bare minimum.
Most of our time (and money) was spent in Artist Alley, and with previous MEGACON experience, navigating to the booths we wanted to visit was easier this year. I had some wonderful conversations with new artists and was excited to see a lot of cool cosplays!
One of the highlights of the day was meeting Eddie Deezen, the voice of Lenny from Polar Express!
Why MEGACON is Worth it
Everyone is a fan of something, and MEGACON Orlando has something for nearly every fanbase possible! The event is for cosplayers and non-cosplayers alike, and there are tons of activities that foster creativity and community building. You never know who you might run into at MEGACON, and you may discover a new passion or make a new friend.
Each day I have visited MEGACON in the past few years has been unique, with surprise celebrity encounters, exclusive merch and giveaways, and opportunities to meet new people in the same fanbases.

MEGACON Orlando 2027 Guide
Parking, Transportation, & Getting There
If you have been to MEGACON Orlando, you’re probably aware of how overwhelming navigating everything can be. However, simply mapping your steps out before arriving will save you both time and energy.
Parking
You must purchase a parking ticket before you arrive, and parking prices vary depending on the parking lot you select.
The parking lot most convenient for you will depend on whether you are staying in a nearby hotel, commuting, and whether you plan on arriving early or later in the day.
Most of the available lots were booked up this year, so when planning for 2027, it is best to secure parking tickets sooner rather than later. You can view parking lot options and purchase parking tickets here.
Buses
Make sure you know your bus route from your selected parking spot! Each bus will indicate the route with a color. For example, if I parked at Rosen College and took the green bus, I should look for the green bus to get back to the same parking lot.
MEGACON Orlando Map
There will be signs to indicate what activities and services each floor offers. However, I highly recommend looking over the exhibition layout before arriving. You can review the map and where to find various activities on the MEGACON Orlando official app.
For navigating Artist Alley, there will be signs indicating the lane and booth numbers. Pay attention to signs and ask staff for assistance to more quickly locate specific booths.
TIP: When I find myself lost, the easiest way to get back on track is to look for signs indicating where I am currently and then compare the locations to the exhibition map on the MEGACON Orlando app.
Food & Dining
When budgeting for your next MEGACON Orlando trip, you’ll need to factor in lunch and dinner. MEGACON Orlando offers a wide variety of dining options, from quick-service burgers and pizza to special dining experiences.
Personally, I like to split a quick-service meal with someone else so I can save more money for merchandise.

Security & Prohibitions
To have a smooth check-in and enjoy your time at MEGACON to the max, make sure to understand and follow all community rules and security requirements.
Weapon Check
If you are coming to MEGACON Orlando in cosplay with any large props, you will be subject to the Weapon Check station upon arrival. Of course, do not carry any actual weapons with you to MEGACON. You can follow these tips to ensure your prop isn’t confiscated:
- Avoid bringing wooden and metal props.
- Keeps props as lightweight as possible.
- Keep any weapons bought at MEGACON in their original packaging when you leave the exhibition.

Dress Code
Keep in mind that MEGACON is for all ages, so make sure to follow the costume policy to avoid denial of entry.
Social Etiquette
Don’t be afraid to ask to take a photo with cosplayers! People are very likely to say yes, but make sure to be respectful of people who say no.
