A Cozy Christmas Mantel with Soft Colors

Sarah Lempon November 20, 201853

I’m joining a group of my talented blogging friends for the Seasonal Simplicity Christmas series. Today we’re sharing Christmas mantel and vignette decorating ideas. Be sure to scroll all the way down for the rest of their beautiful Christmas decor!

My Cozy Fireplace Room

This little corner of my house has gone through a lot of changes over the years. I started out with dark wood paneling, brass fireplace surround and harsh red brick. I have slowly tried different techniques on the brick, mantel and walls. I’m never quite satisfied with the results, but this Plaid wallpaper from Hearth and Hand is definitely my favorite so far. I did a color wash and grout wash on the brick to soften the red and make the white pop.

Get the Look

Many of these items were purchased last year, but I have linked to similar products below!

  • Wallpaper
  • Wing-back Chair (with THESE legs)
  • Ottoman
  • Rug
  • Green Bucket (IKEA)
  • Pillow (Better Homes and Gardens found at Walmart)
  • Greenery
  • Christmas Tree Cones (Similar)
  • Stockings
  • Trees (from Michaels)

Christmas Decorations at Night

I just love the way the house looks at night when it’s decorated for Christmas, don’t you? I love the cozy glow of the Christmas tree and the way light reflects off other shiny objects in the room. I just had to catch a couple cozy shots of this room at night. It’s hard to capture all the coziness in a picture, but I tried!

Today I’m joined by a group of my talented blogging friends who are also sharing their holiday mantel and vignettes ideas with you…
