A Birthday Party for Jesus

This post is sponsored by Oriental Trading Company. I received something of value from OTC, but all opinions are my own. This post may contains affiliate links for your convenience.

I’m excited to be partnering with Oriental Trading Company to share tips for creating a fun, Christmas themed birthday party for Jesus! I’ve been the children’s ministry director at my church for a number of years and we’re always trying to come up with fun, Christmas themed parties and new ways to celebrate the birth of Christ. Each year, we have done something different.

There is no more tangible way to demonstrate the true meaning of Christmas, for a child, than to throw a birthday party!

Menu Ideas

  • Cupcakes or birthday cake
  • Red and green fruit kobobs
  • Build a stable: animal crackers, pretzel rods, graham crackers, hard boiled egg cut in half lengthwise for baby Jesus, star shaped cookies or crackers
  • Red and green veggie cups
  • Red and green colored cupcakes and cookies

Throwing a birthday party for Jesus can be so fun! I love that Oriental Trading Company has always offered a great selection of products to go along with this theme.

Don’t forget the candles and be sure to sing “happy birthday!”

For this party, I used the supplies found here. I used their balloons, tablecloths, plush dolls, straws, plates, cups and napkins. We got enough plush dolls for each child to take one home, they were a big hit!

I also created a birthday banner to match the decorations from OTC, which I have added to my free printables archive!

We are using this theme for our Children’s Christmas party at church. We have ordered the items from Oriental Trading. I have looked in your archives for the printable banner but have not been able to find it. Can you please direct me to the link? I want to make the banner to hang above the food table.
    Thank you!
