Chalkboard Contact Paper

I had seen someone else post just recently about the beauty of chalkboard, vinyl contact paper! What a great option for anyone that doesn’t want the permanency of chalkboard paint, or those of us that do not own our homes and don’t have the freedom to paint our cabinets! I found this stuff on Amazon, but ended up purchasing a couple rolls at Michael’s. With a 40% off coupon it came to about $5.

So I may have gone a little chalkboard crazy! But hey, I couldn’t help myself. The possibilities are endless and if I get sick of it, it comes right off with no mess!

I cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol first. Then, I cut my piece to fit the space, using the guidelines on the back. I attached the top very carefully, being sure to line things up so they would be even. Slowly roll everything out, smoothing as you go. I did have to re-position a couple times, and it went ok. It comes off easily, but will lose stickiness with each removal. I had a couple corners that started coming up because of this, which I used a kid’s glue stick on! Problem solved :)
