Christmas Home Tour: Rustic Glam Flocked Tree with Pastel Colors

Christmas Home Tour

I’m so excited to welcome you into my home today for a fun Christmas home tour and blog hop! A special welcome if you’re stopping by after visiting my friend, Amber over at her house!

I’m sharing my rustic glam flocked tree, as well as decorations in the living and dining room area. I love soft, pastel colors at Christmas time. I’ve never been a huge fan of traditional red and green Christmas colors. I’m drawn to a mix of vintage, rustic, natural and shimmery accents.

Keeping it Simple

Honestly, my decor has really scaled down in recent years. With 5 kids now in our home, I have found that it’s easier for me when I keep the dining room table clear and simple. We sold our formal dining room set and replaced it with a simple white table from IKEA and metal chairs from Amazon. It’s weird, but we never used our formal table before. Now that the table is simple and I keep it cleared off, it gets used all the time! I make our Christmas tree the focal point in our home and keep everything else to a minimum because #toddler.

Get the Look

Here are a few key elements I used to create this rustic glam look:

  • Flocked tree
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Feather garland – Actually a feather boa! I used
  • Wood bead garland
  • Wood bead ornaments
  • Embroidery hoop ornaments
  • Glittery ornaments from the Dollar Tree
  • Pastel pink and turquoise glass ball ornaments
  • Rustic tree collar

Key Elements

To create a simple, cozy Christmas space, there are a few things you must have:

  • Fluffy pillows
  • Cozy blankets and throws
  • Soft rugs
  • Twinkly lights
  • Plants
  • Battery operated candles
  • Minimal clutter and lots of calming “white space”

The TV Dilemma

I have stared at this TV above our piano for far too long. We mounted it on the wall and hid the wires a while ago, but I’m just not happy with it yet. I have considered framing it in or building shutters around it to hide when not in use. I have considered a frame TV that is super slim and displays artwork as a screen saver. A frame TV is my ultimate dream, but until it fits into our budget, I am improvising! I found some artwork that I liked and put it on a flash drive that fits into the back of our TV. It’s not amazing, but it works to create better ambiance!

Flocked Trees from Target

Here are a few great flocked tree options found at Target!
