Embroidery Hoop Ornaments

There are so many things you can do with mini embroidery hoops! I’ve seen so many adorable embroidery hoop ornament ideas out there. The idea for this particular ornament came from a store bought ornament, but I knew right away that I wanted to create more of them on my own! The possibilities are endless. Using different types of embroidered ribbon, create lots of different looks.

Today I’m joining my crafty, blogging friends who are all sharing a handmade ornament idea! Be sure to scroll down to see all their ideas.

Supplies

I collected several different kinds of embroidered lace, ribbon and even a patterned tablecloth! Here are the supplies you should gather ahead of time:

  • Scissors
  • Mini embroidery hoops
  • Narrow ribbon
  • Various styles of lace or ribbon:
    • Embroidered lace
    • Patterned lace tablecloth
    • Snowflake embroidered fabric
  • Advanced option: Use sheer mesh or tulle and hand embroider onto the mesh.

Instructions

Position the inner hoop from your embroidery hoop over the area of lace you want centered. You can either trace around your lace and cut first, or tighten the outer embroidery hoop around it first. I tried both ways and preferred the tight look I got by trimming the lace after I tightened the hoop. It’s up to you! It really is that simple. All I did was attach a piece of ribbon before hanging on my tree.

Yes, definitely no time for embroidering! I love all the lacey designs and they are so easy to put together.
