Today I am featuring a cool, refreshing Summer beverage! Because I love all things Disney, I’ll be sharing how to recreate a favorite drink from Walt Disney World, the Frozen Night Blossom with popping boba bubbles, which can be made for kids or adults!
Frozen Night Blossom Drink
One of the highlights to visiting Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is the food and drinks! Specifically, the frozen Night Blossom drink found in Pandora, the world of Avatar. This frozen treat is served as an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink at the Pongu Pongu quick service restaurant. For a couple dollars more, you can get a “glowing” Night Blossom which includes a little light-up, plastic “unadelta” seed. It’s just as yummy as it is fun and Instagramable! When I fall in love with a dessert or meal from one of my favorite vacation destinations, my first thought is always, “how can I make this at home?” So, of course I had to try!
Jump to RecipeHow to Make It
The Night Blossom drink at Disney World is a frozen, layered drink with boba beads on top. Disney describes it as:
“A mixture of limeade with apple and desert pear flavors topped with passion fruit boba balls.
The description makes it sound rather complicated. To make this at home, I wanted to keep it simple and focus on replicating the layered colors and the boba balls on top.
What You Need
Here are the key ingredients to recreating this delicious treat:
- Lime sherbet
- Raspberry sherbet
- Sprite
- Ice cubes
- Frozen raspberries
- Most importantly: Passion fruit or mango flavored boba popping balls *You can buy these on Amazon or at most Asian markets. You can also go to your local bubble tea restaurant and buy some from them! We really liked this Passion Fruit flavor from Amazon.
- Large straws
I blended the raspberry ingredients together in my Ninja blender and layered them with lime sherbet, then topped with the boba beads!
Optional
Disney also serves an alcoholic version of this drink. If you’re hoping to serve it to your adult friends, you can easily substitute the soda for a spirit of your choice, or use it in addition to the Sprite.
Make your favorite drink from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, at home!
- 1 Cup Raspberry Sherbet
- 1 Cup Frozen Raspberries
- 2 Cups Ice Cubes or Ice Chips
- 1 Can Sprite
- Lime Sherbet
- Boba Beads
-
Blend raspberry sherbet, frozen raspberries, ice cubes and Sprite until well blended and smooth. Add more Sprite if mixture is too thick to pour!
-
Pour a small amount of mixture into a cup. Spoon lime sherbet on top of mixture. Fill cup rest of the way with raspberry mixture. Spoon boba beads on top and enjoy!
Alcoholic Option
Substitute the spirit of your choice instead of using Sprite, or go half and half.
