I’m sharing all the great rides and attractions at Universal Orlando Resort that are perfect for toddlers and small children!

I have really enjoyed going to the Universal Florida parks for the thrill rides, and so do my other siblings! My little brother is not tall enough for all the big rides he wants to do. You may face the same challenge if you are planning to take toddlers to the Universal parks, but have no fear! Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure don’t just offer a bunch of big scary rollercoasters; there are plenty of rides in each park for the whole family!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

Here is a list of Universal Florida rides and other attractions for toddlers:

  • Hogwarts Express King’s Cross
    • For all ages; requires scanning of park ticket to confirm you have bought access to both Universal parks
    • No minimum height requirement
    • Strollers may be used throughout the line and brought onto the ride
  • Kang and Kodos Twirl n’ Hurl
    • No minimum height requirement but children must be accompanied by an adult
  • E.T adventure
    • Must be at least 34″ to ride
    • If under 48″ child bust be accompanied by an adult
  • Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
    • Must be at least 40″ to ride in a moving seat – children under 40″ may sit with an adult in a non-moving seat
    • If under 48″ must be accompanied by an adult
    • This ride gives the choice to sit in non-moving chairs for those prone to motion sickness, which is a great convenience!
  • Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse Coaster
    • Must be at least 36″ to ride; must be supervised if under 48″
  • Curious George Goes to Town
    • This is one of my siblings’ favorite spots to go away from crowds in the heat of the day. Both my toddler-age brother and teenage siblings get a great kick out of all the water and play activities offered!
  • Fievel’s Playland
    • Located right next to the Curious George play area, Fievel’s Playland is another great spot to get away from large crowds and let the toddlers play! In addition to the playground, there is also a really fun tube slide!

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE

  • Pteranodon Flyers
    • This ride has a very specific height requirement window! Must be between 36″ and 56″ to ride; must be supervised if under 48″
  • Camp Jurassic
    • This playground features water activities, which are great for a hot day!
  • Poseidon’s Fury
    • This is an interactive tour show for all ages, but it may not be a great experience for children easily frightened by the dark or loud noises. From experience, my four-year-old brother never teared up, but he did act very clingy and nervous during most of the show.
  • Flight of the Hippogriff
    • Must be 36″ to ride: must be supervised if under 48″
    • This is one of my little brother’s favorite kiddie coasters; I highly recommend this ride for toddlers seeking a bit more thrill!
  • Me Ship, The Olive
    • this is a great place to let toddlers be toddlers because this Popeye’s themed play area allows you to shoot water at people riding the Popeye & Bluto’s Blige-Rat Barges water ride!
  • The High in the Sky Seuss Trolly Train Ride!
    • Must be at least 36″ to ride and supervised by an adult if under 48″
  • Caro-Seuss-el!
  • If I Ran the Zoo
  • The Cat in the Hat
    • Must be at least 36″ to ride and supervised by an adult if under 48″
  • One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
  • Storm Force Acceleration
  • Hogwarts Express Hogsmead Station
    • for all ages; requires scanning of park ticket to confirm you have bought access to both Universal parks.
