Cheap Luke Skywalker Costume Ideas

FacebookPinTweetYummlyPrintEmail
I hit the thrift shops early this year! October may seem far off, but I refuse to wait until the last minute (as I have in the past) to start scrounging for a poorly made piece of junkie fabric that is outrageously priced. I’ve seen some pretty stinkin cute Luke Skywalker costumes for little kids, and decided my kids will definitely be going with the Star Wars theme this year! I’m starting now to search of just the right items I need to complete these outfits without breaking the bank or having to sew everything myself.

Here’s Some Inspiration…

CHEAP LUKE SKYWALKER COSTUME INSPIRATION
1. Sorry, I can’t find the source :(
2. Pettey Family
3. All Things with Purpose (You’re Here!)
4. The original Luke
5. A basic Luke Skywalker costume that can be purchased for around $30 – Not nearly as cute as some of the homemade options in my opinion!
6. All Things with Purpose Scrub top = 50 cents at Salvation Army. White baseball pants = 50 cents at Value World
7. Inchmark

Check out my ideas for a Leia costume here!

Option #1:
An old Karate suit without any patches or words on the back
Option #2:
Shirt – Adult size white scrub top
Pants – White or tan Khaki pants or white baseball pants
  • Tan or brown scrap fabric to wrap around the legs, to create the look of boots.
  • Brown or black belt to hang a lightsaber from
  • Lightsaber – These can be purchased through Amazon like the one found here or made cheaply out of a pool noodle like the ones found here

If you have sewing skills, there is a great sewing tutorial and found here:
